What is the meaning of organic Phycocaynin as natural food coloring?

“Organic” is a very strict concept.

Any product that contains a minimum of 95 percent organic ingredients (excluding salt and water). Up to 5 percent of ingredients may be nonorganic agricultural products and/or nonagricultural products on the National List (nonorganic agricultural products and several nonagricultural products on the National List may only be used if they are not commercially available as organic)[1].

Phycocyanin is also known as Spirulina extract, extracted from spirulina. “Binmei Biotechnology phycocyanin is organic” means that Binmei Biotechnology chooses raw material spirulina to produce phycocyanin, and the raw material spirulina is also organic. Because of the organic phycocyanin exported to the EU and the US, each order will be tracked by the third-party organic audit agency from the raw material purchase, and the quantity of organic phycocyanin exported by the enterprise and the inventory quantity need to be reported to the third-party organic audit agency regularly to strictly ensure the organic properties of the product.

What is the meaning of organic food coloring manufacturers producing by organic methods?

Organic production is an overall system of farm management and food production that combines best environmental practices, a high level of biodiversity, the preservation of natural resources, the application of high animal welfare standards, and a production method in line with the preference of certain consumers for products produced using natural substances and processes. The organic production method thus plays a dual societal role, where it on the one hand provides for a specific market responding to a consumer demand for organic products, and on the other hand delivers public goods contributing to the protection of the environment and animal welfare, as well as to rural development[2].
